The flag of our martyrs, the Irish tricolour, is recognised the world over as the battle standard of the “fighting Irish.” The flag that flew from the GPO in 1916 – now reproduced for YOU to own.
Gifted to the Irish nation by our gallant French allies, Thomas Francis Meagher, a leader of the Young Irelanders, flew the flag from the Wolfe Tone Confederate Club in Waterford City in 1848.
The flag was used to symbolise unity among Catholic and Protestant, and a banner of resistance during the “Great Famine”, which killed a million Irish people!
During the War of Independence, it became the cherished cloth of Ireland's freedom fighters and the official flag of the state.
