Teenager suffers life-changing injuries in knife attack by gang

Gardai are appealing for witnesses after an 18-year-old was stabbed in an attack involving around 20 youths in Dublin.

Officers at Clontarf Garda Station are investigating the assault, which left the victim with a number of serious stab injuries said to be life-changing but not life-threatening.

The incident occurred on Thorndale Walk, Artane, in the north of the city, between 8pm and 9pm on Thursday.

A lane where the altercation occurred runs between the Thorndale Estate, Artane, and St David’s Sports Grounds.

It is believed up to 20 youths from the surrounding area carried out the attack, and they fled in the direction of the Rockfield Park area.

A Garda spokesman said: “We appeal to anyone who was in the vicinity with any information about this attack, or persons who may have witnessed or heard any disturbances in this area, to contact Gardai.

“We wish to appeal to road-users with camera footage, or anyone who may have video footage of the incident from social media sources, to come forward.”
